Issues With My Yamaha T-1

Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

I my Yamaha T-1 in 1978 and have had no issues until now. Here goes.

The left channel will work properly (only static comes out of it now) only when I activate the mono switch on my Nakamichi 410 preamp. The right channel is fine. CDs and vinyl play as they should, as do my speakers.

So, the problem, I surmise, is either in the tuner itself or the tuner section of my preamp. Any ideas? Thanks.
