I recently decided to switch to an Integrated Amp/Tuner configuration and I ordered a used Sanyo T55 from Hawthorne Stereo. When I opened the box there was a Sanyo T35(!) sitting there instead. I decided not to make a fuss and started playing with the Sanyo's cool sliding VFD display. To my dismay it only moved half-way across the dial before becoming stuck. Upon inspection, I discovered that the tuning string had become unglued and had very little grip on the rather bulky trolley this tuner has. After I glued it in the proper position (fairly easy using the glue stains on the string as a guide) I installed it in the system. I have to say it's a nice, full-sounding unit and now I'm somewhat interested in getting it aligned.
Anyone here do their own alignment, or do you recommend anyone for the task? I could see making the investment in this unit, unless the price runs into the stratosphere.
