I once had an FT-11, but I sold it. I wanted to like it, and it seemed great in principle, but the execution was just okay, and probably not up to other MD standards.
Since then, I've had other good tuners and I never looked back. Right now, I have a Luxman T-117 and a heavily-modified Sony XDRF-HD, and I like them both a lot. There are still a lot of good tuners on the market, and you can get some of the better MD tuners used at a bargain if you look. The better Kenwood and Sansui tuners still fetch premium prices, however.
