If that is the primary concern , follow the volume pot with a cathode follower ;) It's probably no-where near as bad as the 300pF capacitance Peter predicts , unless the volume pot drives an interconnect . With a medium mu valve , such as the 6SN7 you should be ok , even with a high Cag valve like the 12AX7 , with an unbypassed cathode resistor you will still get wide bandwidth . Better still , for sonics , get a TVC :)cheers
