Most of the reissue amps to me never made the cut IMO..I know the mac 275 reissue was a joke when it came out..Now I guess they had gone back to the trifilar trannys and are winding them in house.Im still wondering why people call it vintage sound..I have a golden tube se-40 which is a single ended amp but realitively new and it sounds very warm and romantic just as many of my tube amps of yesteryear do...Most of the vintage amps have been upgraded with better more improved caps and other componets.Its tube sound and not vintage sound.You can make any tube amp sound anyway you want just by changing certain parameters.Tube sound is tube sound.Its what portion of tube's curve that the amp is biased at as to how it will sound.I guess if you look at the old mylar caps or the micas that could present itself as unique by comparison in older amps..Who knows.
