Hi AnthonyI also have Chinese "standard" and VA 845's. My standard 845's don't have any internal movement, however, visually the standards are not as well made as the VA's. They have sloppier construction (internal supports, etc) and just don't look as robust.
Soundwise I can't tell any difference so far. However, while I have hundreds of hours on the standards, I only have about a 100 hours on the VA's - maybe they will improve with age (there was a huge difference in the first 20 hours).
I have to say for the $ these VA's are fantastic tubes. I'm just about to take my B+ from 900V to 1200V. Fingers crossed......
