RE: Check this out - Tube VFD on a 1959 Lathe.

I work in manufacturing and twenty or so years ago I was working at a small company that had a lot of used machines in the toolroom. Among them were several very early precision CNC mills. One had been relegated to spare parts status. One day I was poking around and opened the control panel and was surprised to find vacuum tubes inside. Two RCA black plate 6SN7's.
I happened to be using an AE-3 preamp at the time, so I took them home and put them on a tester and they tested strong. They ended up being the best sounding tubes I had ever used in that preamp.
Freak out...Far out...In out....
