"preventive not an "enhancement" "

If you're referring to the diode tweak sometimes known as the "yellow sheet mod", that would be a preventative, not an enhancement, the latter implying a sonic improvement.

Below is a link to an Asylum post by Eli Duttman, which has both the diagram and (a bit further down in the thread) an explanation. He writes:

"The weak spot in the Sovtek 5AR4 is meeting the PIV specification. In all other aspects, the variant is satisfactory. The series SS diode tweak provides extra PIV headroom that prevents that wretched arcing."

You'll have to rewire the leads out of your power transformer if you think Zeus wire will make any difference.
