I bypassed the Standby switch by hardwiring the rectifier diodes directly to the filter caps which eliminated maybe 12-15" of wire. To my surprise this eliminated a very low level hum that had always been present previously.
I then rewired the Standby switch to be an input Mute switch. That is something I include in all of my DIY amps since it lets me swap cables without having to turn off the amps. I have never understood why a mute switch wasn't standard on all amps.
