The KOA Speers / Kiwames are carbon film. I've used the 2w version a lot. For power resistors I prefer wirewounds.

I mostly use Vishay / Dale from Digi-Key unless I have what I need in my junkbox. Digi-Key has a free shipping option which is especially nice on small parts orders where the shipping can often cost more than the parts themselves. I use it on larger orders too, though.
