Lams are stacked and so form a continuous mass-
you may have altered 0.1% of the mass?
and you are at the edge -
So the effect is rather small and not directly affecting the windings-
I have seen large OPTs with the corners milled off to fit construction -
the amps were quite well regarded, and I am sure that nobody knows that it happened -
