Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

Nah, not really...

"It sports 35 watt plate dissipation"

The datasheet says 27. This is the same as the 6146B.

"beefed up screen voltage"

6146B - 250V
6883B - 250V
6146 - 250V

In fact, the datasheets for the 6146B and 6883B are nearly identical.
The heater voltage/current looks to be the only difference. Even the interelectrode capacitances are the same, and it doesn't take much of a design change to throw one of those off by a tenth of a picofarad.
