RE: Initial A/B test between PP and SE 6bq5 amps

Sure, if they were bilt using similar techniques and components, well, yeah?

Power supplies and output transformers are tougher to implement well for SE amps... and SE amps are sensitive to their quality. I think SE amps are generally more sensitive to design and build quality and the speaker interface... but can sound pleasing even when these elements are not well sorted.

Perhaps SE amps are of sorts victims of their success: such a pleasing sound can be achieved with a mediocre build and system implementation that folks assume that is ultimately what they are capable of. I'm looking forward to having fun putting that hypothesis to the test.
