Hi Gang,
The VR tubes light up no problem (CCS set up for 25ma with screen drawing 5ma) from cold start and are stable. Rectifiers are slow turn-on type.
There's an issue on "hot start" (i.e., turn off and turn on within may be 1 minute). The VRs would flicker and motorboat, and cause the speaker woofers to pump. Sometimes it will stabilize, other times it will continue to oscillate. Is this a cap charge-discharge issue because the screen is drawing too much current on hot-start? Is there a circuit mod to prevent this issue?
TIA
