Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

Calm down

The resistor, cathode bias, measured EXACTLY the same in-circuit then out. 30 ohms for what use to be 10 ohms!

Anyway, all my minor changes IMO did not cause the short I am looking at now. I could have drop something across a connection, but unlikely as well with a vertical board (that I CAN'T remove!!) A bit of a pain the way the Anthem is assembled (the stripped screw has to be removed somehow, sometime). I think the power supply took itself out during the last tube blowout.

Anyway, I want to know how to troubleshoot a power supply that is exceedingly simple. For Chris sakes, it is a 1950's style tube amplifier. It is not rocket science!
