RE: I'm looking for a Variac now

No, one is not a replacement for the other !! A variac is OK, useful tool for trouble shooting, especially when you are blowing fuses.

It is dead a** easy to lift one leg of a Rk, and see how the Rk measures, when the tubes are out and when one end of the Rk is out of the circuit.

WAIT !!! You told me that the Rks already measure the same. WTF ???

IF you didn't lift one end of them, your reading is likely BOGUS. Not seeing the schematic, I have to say "likely" as a qualifier. Not lifting a leg sure screwed up my resistance readings on a speaker crossover two months ago !!!

Got it, try the 30 Ohm one, LIFT one leg and remeasure and TELL us if it is still 30 Ohms.

'Bet you a Starbuck's Coffee Frappuccino it will magically measure and "become" 10 Ohms nominal !!
