Because my amp is auto-biased, I cannot change any operating points.I should have mentioned that, noise/reliability issues notwithstanding, these are my favorite 2a3s, by a considerable margin. The soundfield projected by this tube is huge, and the sound is authoritative and dynamic. It manages to have bottom end punch without being shut in on top, an issue I have with the JJ 2a3 (although I like that tube too).
I am tempted to also try the solid plate 2a3s. My friend found those tubes to be more robust.
