Re: External filament supply for 26 pre..?

Greetings- I'm also in the middle of breadboarding a 26 preamp with transformer output. I've been using two of those small "brick" adjustable power supplies made by Acopian, got them on Ebay NOS for a little or $10.00 each. But after much reading on this low voltage ( <3vdc) heater thing, I'm quite sure that my finished build will use SLA batterys (as soon as I find a cheap source).I suggest while you are at it, give the #30 tube a try as well. Filament is 2 volts, but at much less amperage than the 26. Seems to be a bit less microphonic as well, at least with the four samples that I have tried. Have fun, wpod
