External filament supply for 26 pre..?

I am in the middle of building a 26 pre & actually onther 27 pre, but with the 26 I wonder if I can use a external DC supply for the filaments & just patch it over to the 26. I am useing 2- 300kuf Mallory caps after the bridge rect.. This is only my 2nd & 3rd DIY build. My 1st 27 turned out excellent. & dedcided to go for 26 since I have alot of 26 tubes on hand. & can A/B the 26/27 against each other. Also I have drilled the wood chassis for 2- damper diode's, 6w4gt I think, & drilled for another rect spot so I can run a fullwave rect there if wanted. I want to be able to make this switchable .Where at flick of a switch I can go from the TV damper's & go to another fullwave rect. What would be the proper way to wire & installswitch for the rect switching..?
