600 ohms vs. 55 - much easier to build OTL head amp


An OTL (output transformer-less) design to drive 600 ohm headphones would be relatively easy to implement.

You could look through John Broskie's TubeCad articles. His Aikido boards are not expensive, and he discusses using the circuit to drive headphones in a number of thorough articles.

The 7AU7 design might be fine, but I would not go to those lengths if my cans were 600 ohms.
