Thanks for that info. I was planning to feed the output tubes with AC and to switch the trafo secondary from 6.3V to 12.6V. The output tubes consume the most current, so that seems a reasonable approach from the standpoint of efficiency and heat. Also, PP output stages won't be susceptible to AC filament-induced hum, even at 12V. For the drivers, I think DC is best. Switching a voltage regulator like the LM317 to adjust the filament voltage does seem like a natural for this application.I really think the most difficult part will be locating the right switches. They need to be a type that won't be prone to inadvertant or accidental switching. I've seen rotary switches with the shaft recessed into the bushing, but I don't remember who makes them. They might have been something I stumbled on at a surplus store years ago. Guess I need to do a search.
