is the vitamin Q, assuming we are talking old paper in oil types. Other brand but same type, hermetically sealed PIO caps are fine too. I would not pay silly money but if the chance presents itself they are worth a try.In the right amp, for the right job, they can be magic. In the wrong place they are bandwith limited, colored, and cause a loss of detail. In general, I'd use them as late as possible in the signal chain. That said I do run a pair as a passive output filter in a DVD. Helps to make the CD's bearable.
