Ella is a great amp. I built an Ella several years ago and it is still making great music. It also allows one to use 6550 or KT88 tubes as well as EL34s-each tube has a trimmer pot to adjust the input voltage to the appropriate level for each given tube type. Brian Cheney is a good guy to deal with as well-you can go over to the DIY HI FI forum and get lots more info.
