Re: resistor suggestions

The guys below have given good advise.
SUMMARY:
Carbon composition should be reserved for grid stoppers. Anywhere they have to handle power they will also generate noise.
Use 1 and 2W metal films elsewhere - most of these are rated at 500V. If you need more voltage rating than that series 2 resistors.
If you need higher power go for wire wound (I don't like the 3W metal oxide jobs).

I also started off as a fan of Rikken Ohms on a SS Amp I built BUT the more I improved the amp, in particular its distortion and noise performance, the less I liked the Rikkens and eventually deleted them entirely - that is they were a great MASKING device to hide real problems.
