Re: resistor suggestions

Not to upset the teacup but, has it occurred to you that an amp with all carbon comp resistors might not sound too good. It is one thing to use a couple small, ~200 ohm, snubbers here and there but, there is a reason people don't use carbon comp resistors of high value; they are noisy and they catch fire when they fail.
I would question the quality of design as well. Have you heard a true Williamson amp? They are difficult to get right and tend to need a lot of feedback, at which point they tend to oscillate like hell. Which IMO is what they sound like. Go through this website and others, check Jones etc. and you will see that there are other ways to go about building an amp.
