I found exactly the same results you did and the JJ kt77 reminds me more of a good 6L6gc or kt66 than that of an el34 in the high frequencies and upper mids.Its very linear and has a very nice power curve and I know it appears more lean than a kt88 but I always compare the tubes in optimal amps for each tube.
What impeadance are you running in your SE amp?
