Hi.

If you can't move the attenuator away from any tubes being so close,
add a reflecive aluminum foil shield over the entire attenuator areas. Make sure you ground the foil shield.

It will serve two purposes:

(1) heat shield - to keep the resistors & selector contacts cool.

(2) noise shield - to shield out any noise emissions (RF/hum) from
the tubes.

I always put reflective aluminum foil shield on filter can-caps which often sit so close to the hot hot rectifier tube & power tubes.
