These caps should be less than $1 each. I'm just looking for standard polystyrene axial caps with one lead connected to the outer foil, and with a manufacturer's mark to indicate which lead that is). I've been grading the Xicons by hand with a special test fixture I devised (which also requires a spectrum analyzer), but it's too time consuming. Have manufacturers stopped marking their caps to show the foil lead? Incidentally, I'm using these in high performance RF filters. The filters attenuate harmonics to better than -130 dBC, thus the need for shielded (and identifiable) capacitor construction. What's going on with the manufacturers? This used to be routine.
