I have read of the 10 rule...

... however, if this rule were correct in this case, a .4uf would have been sufficient, but yet the .1uf was too much. Assuming the .047uf would have been sufficient, that would be roughly at 1/100th the main cap's value. I'm still confused as to what causes this "phase anomaly" with bypasses in the preamp's signal path.
