Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

The Doctor is in ...

Jeff

I knew it when I posted the 75DCR on the chokes
that it was a matter of time for you chime in.
We differ on what we like in "good sonics".
As far as "mentally involving" is concerned,
if I am thinking about the sound then
I am not involved in the music.
I have been to shows where PACE was
the main attraction to the setup.
I found it boring not involving.
Some like the articulation of pentodes.
I find them to artificial and synthetic.
I found I prefer a warmer tubey-ish sound.
Not to the point of mush but tubey none-the less.
I like what I like and you like what you like.
I don't know for sure but I believe that your design
approaches the pentode presentation in character.
I am not blowing you off as much as
thoughtfully considering the posibility
and choosing that it wasn't for me.
There is many avenues out there for different sonics
and everyone has to choose the road that is for them.
In DACs,
I chose the non-up & over-sampling as the way for me.
In amps,
I chose tubes - both PP & SE are different but nice.
I have one of each at the moment.
In speakers,
I like speakers without inductors and motor runs caps.
Nor am I attacking you and your design philosophy
just deciding that it isn't for me.
I have severly limited funds so
I need to choose paths because
I can't afford exploring them all.
As far as having just a "ho-hum" home brew amp
I am quite happy with it especially after
exchanging the KT66s with Flying C 6550s.
Matches the Dynaudio D260 better.
Sorry that it is boring for you.
Should I liven it up for you ...
YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!
YOU CRAZY WACKO YOU !!!
Does that feel more normal for you 8^D
Glad to help ... HaHaHa
