I agree with Mike!This circuit would work with 6922's but:
1/ it will have much less gain and therefor maybe not enough to take a CD player directly
2/ It could be a wholelot of trouble to get stable - and without a full lab of gearmaybe this would never be solved.
The designer knows what he's doing so why mess with it? Giving yourself a lot of headaches just to use some tubes you own is not a wise decision, IMO.
