but....IMHO the higher the transconductance the better the suitability of the tube. Tektronix used cathode followers as input stages to oscilloscopes. They invaribly used the 6DJ8 and Nuvisitors, even a 6ak5 pentode. Pentodes need to be investigated as good cathode followers; 12by7. Good luck! Ray
