Kurt,DC heater power is needed only for the phono board. Build or buy an external 12 VDC supply, IF phono hum proves annoying.
Be sure to use Sovtek 12AX7LPS tubes in the phono stage. The spiral wound hum bucking heaters will lower residual hum to a tolerable (?) level.
