I have never heard much of an improvement with bypassing cathode caps. It will not hurt, however. I have heard an improvement by running the cathode cap between the cathode and B+. If you have a 250v Solen it will exceed the voltage rating on the cap. Up the voltage rating and you can hear improvement with this configuration. Try an ASC oil cap if you are going to purchase a new cap.
