Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

BAD IDEA ALL AROUND!

I strongly suggest you REMOVE the B+ switch you installed.
your hypothesis is unfortunately wrong, and in-fact you are
causing problems instead of solving them by such an approach.
You could destroy your filter caps, rectifier, etc --and quite
possibly end-up electrocuting yourself. I'D REMOVE THAT SWITCH
ASAP. CAREFULLY! CAREFULLY! MAKE SURE FILTER CAPS ARE SHORTED
TO GROUND AND FULLY DISCHARGED BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY WORK
ON THE UNIT.

Good luck,

-T.M.
