Yes you can, straight from the opt. It'll be able to drive huge cables, high cap cables, oddball cables pretty much anything you'd like. If you have a floating output (ie neither of the secondaries is connected to ground), then you have a floating balanced output too.The downside will be gain (too much), and the powerhandling capability of the input on the power amp (not high enough).
You could drop gain by omitting the driver value (assuming the outputs of your componants can drive the EL84 directly (most can), or by using a cathode follower arrangement. One final alternative is to switch the driver to inverted triode operation - give high current, very low gain (1/mu) stage.
