You mentioned one of the very reasons and also the wire length would differentiate the models of trans..They are identical as you say and what I would do is figure one of each if you have two different numbers as far as sorting.Sherwood did this to by changing one number after the dash like -13 to -14 or whatever it may be to distinguish left from right..If you have all one model,dont worry about it.
