Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

Great ! Lots of fun!

You can't do much that is as exciting building an amp or pre and powering it up for the first time! It doesn't matter how many you have built it is always tenuous, scary, almost breath taking to wait as the tubes warm up to see if it works. Remember, there are no mistakes only learning experiences! On mine I did one channel at a time, and on the first one I forgot to strap the output transformer for the secondary impedence. I put a signal in and could barely hear a very distorted output. I checked everything else multiple times before I found that problem. Good luck, have fun and take your time.
