I run PP 6B4G's, 5842 driver. Use Sansui 1000A output trans, on old Dynaco mk2 chasis. Stock dynaco power trans; choke input supply (choke bolted on the side fraken-amp style), fixed bias. 5842 has separate filament trans. I run 'em 15-18 watts (Sovtek).

These ugly, rusty amps have simply SMOKED some amps praised here at club meets - on the right speakers (usually somebody trying to run slightly less-efficient speaks with low power SET's). While they do give up some SET 'magic', they're still DHT's. They have a firm hand on the bottom end, and complex works don't go 'mushy'.

I had a someone run a scope on the signal, no ringing as described below.

Scholl (posted below) helped me a LOT with the design. I'll probably rebuild these as 2A3 amps, as I only have one quad of Sovteks left.
