I don't have the magazine in front of me, but if memory serves, it's 2.5k (2500 ohms). It's certainly NOT 25k. This resistor has fairly high current and voltage going through it, and therefore tends to run HOT. I actually put a small burn mark on the furniture because of this resistor. Thankfully, it was just a 'thrift store' type of cabinet. I'd use no less than a 25 watt (50W is better) resistor here, and make sure it has lots of room to breath.
