I remember these beauties from a year and a half ago and the compliments we gave you on them..What a work of art..If I were you I would go and put a 45 in to try but Yyou may have to lower the B+...I noticed its quite high for a 2a3 in typical fashion,but being the cathode voltage is high and above ground and your drawing 59ma,it must not be a problem.
I look at a 2a3 and being a double 45 somehow.Go ahead and put in a 45 and dont worry about the 6sl7 for now but I would adjust the cathode resistance to where the 45 wont draw more than 35ma.Give it a try and see how you like it.You can lower the B+ by 60v or so but basically your 45 should have no problem in this circuit.
