Hello Les,

I don't know your schematic, but it you are using a filament transformer with a center tap and the tap is either grounded or connected to your cathode resistor, then it may be that the 0.1 ohm resistor is unbalancing the filament. Try .1 in each filament leg from the transformer.

Just a guess.
