Thanks for the compliment. I would find it hard to recommend the earlier designs over say the Octal Cornet.Mine is a low gain design which is fine for my system as I have oodles but it might be a problem for other people. The RIAA EQ values aren't quite right and could do with changing a little.
I never compared my design to anything else so have no idea how it rates although I like it a lot!! Well especially now but that doesn't coincide with your "junkbox parts". I didn't see 5687 in your parts list either so that could limit you trying my circuit.
I do know someone that used the power supply part for an EAR834 and was very pleased. As you can see, I find it hard to say to someone "use mine". You are of course quite welcome to do so :-)
