Edcor is Weird !!!

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

I just recieved a pair of Edcor EX-103 switching autotransformers.
First off -
there is a PCB etched capacitor between the input and output grounds.
That's easy enough to rectify but weird.
Then -
They switch the input between the taps
instead of switching the output.
Is this weird or what?
