Hi ,
I've built PP direct coupled amps before . The main problem is that once DC coupled the driver stage dictates the operating point of the output stage . Also unless a negative supply is used , very high B+ voltages are required and there is also the danger that if your driver valve fails your output stage fries . For single ended the 'Free Lunch' or 'Monkey' circuits are worth looking up but for PP I'd suggest transformer coupling instead .cheers
