Re: The RCA Datasheet is Wrong ...Over a span of at least 15 yrs!!!

A bit of a mystery developing here.

RCA lists the OP conditions you question in:
RC15 - 1947
RC16 - 1950
RC17 - 1955
RC18 - 1956
RC19 - 1959
RC20 - 1960 OP not present but new OP for 6L6GC added.

The OP is also listed in RCA HB-3 / 4-57 and in Radio Amateur Handbook for 1945.

I don't doubt your specific test results but I also find it difficult to believe if this was an error, it would be allowed to go uncorrected for such a long period of time in separate publications. As I opined below, while this is not a great OP esp considering 4% THD under totally ideal conditions, I'd still expect something like an honest 18-20W at say 400Hz with a halfway decent OPT under real-world conditions.

This bears further investigation. Guess I'll be doing something with that A9 that's been gathering dust.
