Thanks Mark. I actually attended the 2003 Northern New England Tube group fest at Gary's House. Gary is one of the foremost proponents of the triode-wired 46.I have not used 45 46 or 47 as an output tube yet, but may give it a go. Just now I am experimenting a bit with DHTs in the voltage amp position, with AC on the filaments, leading me to wonder what the 46 not triode wired would sound like.
