MarkAt your circuit breaker box, the neutral (or return) wire
is connected to the ground wire but since more current is
going through the neutral/return wire and it has impedance
therefore it has voltage on it.
So if you measure with your VOM on AC, from each(hot and neutral)
to ground, the neutral will have less voltage on it.
