With the RCA, the signal hot makes contact before the ground (shield) connects which may be a disadvantage if you connect or disconnect with the volume control up and the selector switch selected to that jack. The ground should ideally make contact first when going in and last when going out like a BNC 75 ohm plug behaves. The DIN pins are silver plated (the ones I have are)and most RCA are not unless you use Tiffany or some other high end brand. Ray Hughes
