There are no good double decks. I don't think there is a double deck that sounds as good as a average three head machine.
That being said, all of the double decks are not equal and, of course,
there are bad single decks that perform worse than a some double decks.

On the other hand, Dolby S equiped machines are supposed to have some quality standars. I. E. not all decks could have dolby S, as it happened with dolby B, and C.

So I would affirm that even without the advantage of Dolby S, your Double deck TC-WR635 is better, and probably performs mechanically much better.

And, if you are going to record and play on that deck you can use
Dolby S.
